What is it?

We are excited to present a unique opportunity to support and empower young entrepreneurs in our community through the Young Makers' Market. This event is designed to cultivate the entrepreneurial spirit in children and teenagers aged 6-16 years old. The market will provide a platform for them to showcase their business ideas, products, and skills, while also learning valuable lessons in project management, planning, and financial literacy.

The market will feature two age groups: Kids Category (ages 6-12 years) and Youth Category (ages 13-16 years). With 20-30 stalls available, young participants will gain hands-on experience in running their own businesses. Participation requires attendance at a training session or certification through Lemonade Day, a program for young entrepreneurs, facilitated by the Greater Vancouver Chamber.

Vancouver Volcanoes

The Vancouver Volcanoes are dedicated to going beyond the game of basketball to uplift, educate, and empower youth in our community to reach their fullest potential.  We focus on promoting wellness, developing basic skills, financial literacy, community service, and by providing professional opportunities not otherwise accessible to aspiring young adults. This year we are excited to expand our program with Young Makers Market to provide more professional opportunities and training for local youth, as well as transform our game day experience into one with more fan fare and participation opportunities for young adults.

A focus on Social Responsibility

Emphasizing our commitment to community impact, we've integrated a philanthropic component into the market. Each participant is encouraged to donate 10% of their sales proceeds to a cause of their choice. This initiative not only instills the value of social responsibility but also demonstrates the significant impact young entrepreneurs can have on others through their businesses.
